Manna
I love Sundays, they are so refreshing after all the cares of the week. I teach the 4-6th S.S. class, ( I really love that age group, they are so inquisitive ). We just finished talking about the parting of the Red Sea and the children of Isreal starting out in the wilderness. ( Did you know that the Sea was parted overnight by a strong east wind? and that the chilren passed through before daybreak?? ) Anyways we looked at Manna and where it came from. It went right along w/ my devos. ( I have been reading The Wonderful Names of Our Lord). And I wanted to share a bit of what they said. There is an art, (...)by which a wearied and exhausted life may gather, (...)new strength, new vigor, new physical power, for an onward march. So the Master feeds the souls of His children Himsalf a spiritual "Manna" as real and more wondeful than that strange, mysterious food with which He fed the House of Isreal.(...)we are given "exceeding great and precious promises, that by Him we might be partakers of the divine nature." Next time I am weary I know that I can partake of the "manna" He supplies.
